Windsurfing and Kiteboarding at Allenwood Beach

Windsurfing | Kiteboarding | Sailing

Georgian Bay attracts many tourists and locals to its many beaches. All around the bay there are many public access points where you can cool off on a hot Summer day. But it’s probably best known for the largest fresh water beach in the world known as Wasaga Beach. It is here that many Windsurfers and Kiteboarders are also drawn to. Probably the most popular launch point for these high wind surfers, is an area known as Allenwood Beach. Located at the east end of Wasaga near Woodland Beach in Tiny, many windsurfers and kite boarders quickly gather when the winds pick up. It’s probably one of the best locations in Ontario to enjoy these sports. Our trade winds usually come from the West or North/West, so it’s the perfect spot to catch on-shore winds where the waves come crashing in, and sport enthusiast can get some “nice air” and they launch off the waves. Even if you are not interested in taking up these two fast water sports, they’re exciting to watch! To help find this location see the map below for directions… See you on the bay, on the next windy day!
