Here’s a guide to private, semi-private and public courses that are sure to impress golfers of all skill levels. Blue Mountain Golf and Country Club – Semi Private

With the Niagara Escarpment in the background, enjoy this 18 hole semi-private facility located on Collingwood’s 10th Line between Sixth Street and Mountain Road. Built in 1964, it is the longest established course in the area. Great for both walking or taking a cart as both the 9th and 18th hole take you back to the clubhouse. Lesson and practice facilities are available.

230 acres on the 10th line just south of Poplar side road. OslerBrook Golf & Country Club, is designed, and built by its members for its members. This is a private facility with the bells and whistles of fine dining and casual patio service.

Semi private club for members and open to the public as well. Located on Keith Drive in Collingwood and part of Cranberry Village, now known as Living Stone Golf Resort. This was the first golf course appointed to the Audubon Society certified course list and has won the Environmental Stewardship Award. Clubhouse has an outdoor swimming pool. There is also a hotel, condominium suits, restaurants and shopping available at the site.

One of the newest courses in the area, Batteaux Creek Golf Club was built in 2002 and is part of the Golf North Program. The club is set on 250 acres on Highway 124 just south of Collingwood. Clubhouse features include both a private members’ lounge and a public lounge. Day lockers and showers are available. Built for all levels of skill.

Voted one of the top new golf courses in 2007, Score Golf Magazine. Semi private, challenging 18 hole golf course set along the shores of Georgian Bay and within the Lora Bay residential community. The private and challenging Georgian Bay Club opened for play in June 2004 and sits atop the Nippissing Ridge between Thornbury and Meaford. The Member friendly par 71 layout, including 5 sets of tees ranging from 5,129 to 7,108 yards, 55 acres of fairways along with 73 Alister MacKenzie inspired bunkers and the large undulating greens, provides new challenges every day.

The course was built in 1928 but is on the verge of extinction. Local, heated debates continue as to whether to destroy the course to build more condominiums. Stay tuned to find out what happens. Marlwood’s offering does not stop with the just the great course but also a full complement of Country Club services. The patio area is a treat for golfers that are in relax mode at Wasaga Beach. The charming country clubhouse can accommodate large groups perfect for weddings and any social events.

A Visionary of Golf, Founder Dalton Sampson fulfilled his dream to establish a golf course serving Collingwood, Blue Mountain, Nottawasaga and the surrounding area – on land owned by his family for several generations. Known as the Jewel of the Escarpment, the golf course occupies an excellent vantage point not too far from Collingwood and atop the southwest end of Blue Mountain, with one of the highest points of elevation in Southern Ontario.

Mad River is a member-owned, private championship golf in a spectacular rural setting. “We embrace values instead of rules.” Mad River is a multi-faceted golf experience. While the course was lengthened in 2012 for the two back tees, the forward tees were moved up on several holes. Mad River now has 13 sets of fully rated and handicapped tees – six for men, five for women and two for juniors – that ensure an enjoyable golfing experience for players of every skill level.
