South Georgian Bay Cross Country Skiing

The Southern Georgian Bay area offers a variety of cross-country ski experiences. You can choose between a backcountry experience at Kolapore Wilderness Trails or a family-friendly groomed ski at Scenic Caves Nordic.  The scenery is spectacular at each stop! Highlands Nordic offers amazing views of Georgian Bay and open space. Enjoy 25 km. of ski trails, single track trails for racing and programs, and an 8000 square foot lodge complete with cafeteria, meeting rooms, pro-shop, rentals, and more.



Tomahawk Cross-country Skiing

The Town of Blue Mountains will be grooming a hard-packed loop trail at the Tomahawk Recreational Complex throughout the winter season. Weather permitting, set tracks for cross-counrty skiing will be added along the groomed trail.

Wasaga Beach Provincial Park offers some of the most exciting nordic ski terrains in Central Ontario with over 30 kilometers of groomed trails. Expert skiers can challenge themselves on the High Dunes Trail while beginner skiers can choose the more leisurely Blueberry Trail.


 

Kolapore Wilderness Trails

Kolapore is a rugged, backcountry experience. The Kolapore Wilderness Trails Association manages a 50 km network of trails in the Kolapore Uplands (about 20 km southwest of Collingwood). The trails are maintained as wilderness ski trails in the winter.


The Loree Forest

This trail is located south of Thornbury on County Road 2, east of Victoria Corners. This trail is not maintained but the terrain is relatively flat and excellent for beginners and moderate skiers. The trail leads to the top of the Georgian Peaks Ski Club. There is no fee to ski at Loree Forest.
