All About Beach Parking: Wasaga Beach, Collingwood & The Blue Mountains

Beach parking is a hot commodity these days and trying to keep the balance between locals enjoying the beaches and the influx of visitors has become a challenge. Wasaga Beach, Collingwood and The Blue Mountains have all addressed the situation with paid parking at popular beaches and waterfront parks. Resident passes are available and some waterfront parks have reserved area parking for locals.

Collingwood

Paid parking at Sunset Point Park and Princeton Shores, is in effect 7 days a week between the hours of 9:00 am to 9:00 pm from the Friday before the Victoria Day holiday until the Thanksgiving holiday.

  • Collingwood residents require a digital Resident Parking Pass in order to park for free.
  • Residents of the Town of Wasaga Beach, Town of The Blue Mountains and the Township of Clearview can purchase a digital Non-Resident Parking Pass seasonally to park.
  • All other visitors are charged $10/hour with a daily maximum of $50.

Parking at Sunset Point Park

Daily parking fees can be paid in 3 ways:
1) using the HotSpot Parking App;
2) scanning NFC/QR Code on the parking signs and paying through Apple Pay or Google Pay; or,
3) using the parking pay stations located throughout the park.

Parking at Princeton Shores

Daily parking fees can be paid in 2 ways:
1) using the HotSpot Parking App: or,
2) scanning NFC/QR Code on the parking signs and paying through Apple Pay or Google Pay.

The Blue Mountains

To effectively manage people on Town beaches, the Town of The Blue Mountains will be implementing paid parking at the following locations:

  • 171 King Street East
  • Bayview Park
  • Council Beach
  • Delphi Point Park
  • Heathcote Park
  • Little River Park
  • Lora Bay Park
  • Loree
  • Northwinds Beach
  • Peasemarsh Beach
  • Thornbury Harbour
  • Town Hall (weekends only)

Residents

All residents of the Town of The Blue Mountains will be permitted to park for free at the specified locations by either registering their license plate or by displaying the printed resident pass in their rearview mirror. The 2021 printed resident passes will be mailed to all taxpayers by the end of March.

Non-Residents

Parking is available for non-residents at the specified locations for $5.00 per hour up to a maximum of 4 hours. Parking passes for non-residents are currently not available.

Wasaga Beach

A daily vehicle permit or Ontario Parks seasonal pass is valid in all provincial park beach area parking lots.

There are also Town of Wasaga Beach municipal parking lots and private parking lots, which have their own rates. Provincial park permits are not valid in these parking lots. There are eight provincial park beach areas that provide parking.

A daily vehicle permit (valid for one vehicle) is $21.00 on weekends and holidays, and $18.00 on weekdays.

In 2021, Ontario Parks are providing free weekday daily vehicle permits from May 1 to September 2, for all provincial parks Mondays through Thursdays.

Ontario Parks seasonal passes are also available: a summer seasonal pass is $75 + HST and an annual season pass is $99 + HST.

Resident Passes

In Person:
Visit Town Hall at 30 Lewis Street to purchase and receive your parking pass at the customer service counter during the regular business hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm.  The cost is $28.25 each.

By Mail:
Call  705-429-3844. The cost is $28.25 each.  We will mail the pass to the primary mailing address we have on file.  The Online Registration Form is required as well as documentation for proof of ownership.  The customer service representative will help you with this process.
